Weekly Sales

Happy hump day everybody!

I am constantly browsing my favorite onlineshops and always keep and eye out for a good sale item (and then share it on my blog!) and I got super inspired by one of my favorite fashion blogs Somwhere, Lately to start a new series: the gorgeos SL ladies Meggan and Brooke do a series called Weekend Deals where they share their favorite bargain pieces from sales happening that weekend.

You best believe I freaking love these posts!

And that is why I wanted to share my very own sale fashion items - let me introduce you to the first installment of Weekly Sales. :)
Here we go!

Asos has a 20% off EVERYTHING to celebrate labor day weekend with code DAYOFF for the US.
But don't worry my fellow Europeans, Asos also has a 20% sale going on with over 2,000 clothing pieces from the new season!
Here are some of my favorite items.

The Miss Selfridge Summer Sale is still going on with up to 70% off - though I saw a ton of jeans and long sleeve shirts in there! This bardot dress is super cute and only €21 whaaat! And this pale pink cami is perfect for that jeans-and-a-nice-top look - it's now only €14!

In the Topshop Sale I found one of THE trend bags of Summer '18 for only €20! It comes in some really nice colors and patterns as well. Check it out here.

Some gems I found on sale on Prettylittlething:

*i think these are AH-MAZING! love love love them, could be styled so many different ways!

*love the plunging neckline - this one is another great jeans-and-a-nice-top look staple!

*i adore this skirt! i think you can work it really well into your fall wardrobe!

And last but not least: Nasty Gal has a freaking 40% off sale going on with the Code: GIMME40!!
I adore this super on trend SNAKESKIN bodysuit, this staple LBD dress with a little twist, these chelsea boots in the most perfect cognac brown and this gorgeous nude midi dress for under €30 regular price!

Wooow so many amazing deals out there right now! And then they say that shopping in a transitional season is boring ;)

Which piece is your favorite? Are you going to pick something up? Would love to know! :)

In The Spotlight: Dior Joy

Dior just surprised everybody when they released their new fragrance out of nowhere!
And me being me, a total perfume junkie,  I just had to run out to the department store to give it a smell.
The scent wow'd me, I instantly fell in love and nearly cried... because this freaking perfume is so damn expensive!

However, I did some more research on this fragrance to figure out if I really needed it or not (or to find any reason I could justify this purchase, let's me honest) and I looove the story around this launch!
JOY by Dior - €95 per 50 ml

"JOY by Dior expresses this remarkable feeling of joy by offering an olfactive interpretation of light.
This perfume resembles certain pointillist paintings that are rich with a precise, yet not too obvious, technique. It is constructed with multiple nuances, a myriad of facets that lead to an expression that is clear and self-evident.
Bringing a new Dior perfume to life is an event. For the entire House, as well as for me. It should rally and delight both women and men."
                                                                                - Francois Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator

A perfume that was created to be an interpretation of light - do I need to say anymore?

The scent is not hard to describe, it is very floral and fresh, almost a bit fruity, yet there is something more heavy lingering when wearing the scent for a longer period of time - super interesting and definitely something you do not come across with every odd frangrance launch!

Here are the notes:
Zested Bergamot
Grasse Rose

What do we think about the bottle though? My immediate thought was that I did not like it at all, and, not to be a victim of pretty, sparkle packaging ever, that was one of the reasons I did not just pick it up right there and then - the other one was the price tag...
I feel like fragrances are not only about what is inside, but packaging really matters here! Isn't it all about picking up a gorgeous perfume bottle to apply your favorite scent and then placing it delicately back into that perfect spot on your vanity?

What do you think, do you think perfume packaging is important? Would you buy a scent you love if the outside does not match? And what are your thoughts on this new Dior release?

I hope you enjoyed this post!

On My Shoppinglist: New In Transitional Clothing Pieces

Fall is approaching us fast - faster than I actually would like it to, because I am very much still in summer mood haha!
However, in my opinion there is nothing cuter then fall fashion and the stores are already full to the brim with new arrivals for the upcoming season.

I was browsing my favorite onlineshops yesterday and there were so many great pieces that will actually work really well to transition from the summer weather to the cooler days.
So I came up with this selection of amazing transitional clothing pieces that are also super on trend and can be worn NOW! Enjoy :)

*this sweater is amazing! I've been lusting after a yellow knitted piece since last year and this one is just perfect. The bright color works great for those late summer days and goes well with jeans and black.
*lately i've been fascinated by the idea of organic and more sustainable clothing pieces and these leggings are not only a great staple item for the upcoming season but also a really good price point!
*i couldn't pass this one up, isn't the tie detail on the sleeve just amazing?

*i love love love styling tailored pants as i can easily work them into my work as well as my more informal outfits and they go with so much. love the cut and color of this pair.

*this coat looks amazing and so much more expensive than what it is! it's also not too thick so you can easily wear it during cooler evenings now and bring it all the way into fall.

*I adore a good blazer as they easily elevate a simple outfit and they are the best to wear to an office if you wear a blouse under it and can easily take it off if it does get a bit warmer during the day. i especially love blazers with a little bit of a more special detail or pattern.
*aren't these booties amazing??! leopard is once again a huge trend for the fall season and i love incorporating it into my outfits with accessories. i looove the style of these, they are perfect!
*this dress looks sooo good and works well for cooler weather because of the longer length and sleeves. I think it also looks way more expensive than what it is!

*another huge trend at the moment are layered coin pendant necklaces and this one looks so cool and is really affordable!

Topshop draped blouse €40.00
*i imagine this blouse as amazing for the office this time of year as it is very airy and I adore the color!

Did you like my selection of summer to fall transitional pieces? Which one was your favorite? What is on your shoppinglist right now? Let me know! :)

10 Foods That Benefit Your Skin!

I have been struggling so hard with my skin over the course of this week it is not even funny...
I'm breaking out on my cheeks and chin, my forehead is covered in tiny bumps and my skin gets super irritated after washing it or putting any kind of product on it. I even feel like my skin is even more oily than normal and makeup is just not sitting right on it.
All in all - it's a disaster!

I am pretty happy that I did leave my acne days behind eventually (I did have pretty bad skin in my teenage years), so every breakout now just feels minor to me, but dealing with very bad skin for a whole week really had a toll on me I have to admit!

Now, I did not change any of my makeup or skincare products, my routine is still the same as last week and I do not feel particularly stressed nor did the freaking weather change. So I really have no clue why my skin is acting up the way it does right now - but deep inside, I do know! I have to shamefully admit that there might has been a party or two last weekend that involved drinks, staying up late, wearing makeup for long hours and even having a McDonalds late one night and not properly washing my face before going to bed #oops!

And this just made me realize once again this week how freaking important your lifestyle is for your appearance, your skin, your mood and your health! My skin is very sensitive so yes, I do think that two nights of going out brought it to this state.
Anyway... we all make mistakes, we all have a life to live, but we also want nice skin - and we want it fast!

So apart from drinking a lot of water, taking my skincare routine very serious and trying to get a good night sleep I have also been researching foods that evidently have benefits for your skin in one way or the other.
I found some amazing articles and websites, mostly written by nutrionists or dermatology experts and want to round up the ten foods that can boost the appearance of your skin from the inside out, are very easy to obtain and easy to incorporate into your daily meals.
1.  Avocados

Avocados are high in healthy fats, that keep the skin flexible and moisturized and contain Vitamins E and C, which are important for skin health. They also have nutrients that can protect from sun damage!

2. Walnuts

Walnuts are a source of essential fatty acids, that the human body can not produce itself - the Omega-3 acid in them can help fight inflammation in the skin.

3. Dark Chocolate (with at least 70% cocoa)

The ultimate wonder tool: contains antioxidants that make your skin thicker and more hydrated and can also protect it from sunburn very effectively - a study found that eating just 20 grams of dark chocolate regularly helps the skin to withstand twice as much UV radiation before burning!
4. Fatty Fish

Fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring also contain high amounts of Omega-3 acid and can therefore fight inflammation and acne! Also a great source for quality protein that keeps the skin strong and intact.

5. Olive Oil

The youth booster! The monounsaturated fatty acids in olive oil (75% of it) can reduce and prevents signs of aging and make your skin look younger.

6. Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes contain a high amount of beta-carotene (that can also be found in carrots and spinach) that the human body converts to vitamin A and therefore acts as a natural sunblock! It also helps the skin to have a more even skin tone and look healthier.

7. Green Tea
Consuming green tea leads to a more elastic and smooth skin that shows less signs of pre-mature aging. The antioxidants included in the brew boost blood flow and pump more oxygen to the skin cells which ultimately results in an overall healthier skin.

8. Red or Yellow Bell Peppers

One of the best sources of vitamin C, which is necessary for creating collagen, a skin component that keeps it firm and strong. Consumption of high amounts of vitamin C also lets the skin appear less dry.

9. Red Wine

Contains Resveratrol (sourced from red grapes) which has a wide range of beauty and health benefits such as reducing the signs of aging. Interesting: resveratrol even shows those benefits when applied ON the skin!

10. Broccoli

Broccoli is packed with vitamins and nutrients that are good for your skin. The real hero here is sulforaphane though, a compound that is said to help prevent cell damage and cell death!

You have no idea how relieved I was to be able to put chocolate and wine on that list!

Which food surprised you with its benefits? Will you try to incorporate more of something specific into your diet to help your skin health?
Personally I am really good with consuming vegetables, I just find them incredible tasty! I want to try to up my consumption of fish and green tea though - something I am not doing regularly at all right now.

I hope you enjoyed and found this helpful!

Here are the articles and blogs that I read and the sources I found. I tried to mention the food that was included in several articles:

Transitional Summer Outfit Under €100

I guess we all have to accept that fall is slowly but surely creeping up on us - but that does not mean that we have to say farewell to our favorite summer clothing pieces just yet!
Though confusing I think that the transitional time between two seasons really lets us get creative with out closets and mix and match pieces that we did not think about pairing together before.
And bonus if they are affordable!

So here is a cute transitional summer outfit. Throw on the jean jacket if it does get a little bit chilly in the evening or still soak in those last sun rays in that adorable white body suit. I feel like those paperbag pants are SUCH a great staple that work really well with a fall wardrobe!
And OMG how amazing are those mules??
